A very nice looking knife but a bit too expensive for Chinese made, particularly when you have a Benchmade USA made integral for the same price

OnionmanThe location here means nothing, this brand is probably one of the top production brands the world over, along with a few other chinese brands. I assure you that you wont find an american production knife thats better built than a top chinese production knife.

BenjaboolyI've got the budget version of the Thor 3 and it's one of my best knives as far as action and fit&finish go, Rike can undoubtedly build top shelf knives. The Anthem is cool but this actually looks like a nicer knife to me.

BenjaboolyFINALLY someone else has the same opinion as I do about the high quality of these Chinese knives at reasonable prices. Yes it would be great to buy American but I wouldn't pass up a great knife because it's not from USA..... I am totally about being proud of our country and if I had two exact knives from here or Chinese I would by ours, but to not buy BECAUSE it's Chinese is not how I see it.

BenjaboolyNever said anything about quality. Just way overpriced since it costs much less to manufacture. These companies are trying to get you to pay the equivalent for US made and just pocketing the difference. Just looked on ebay and saw this knife sell for $280. Probably about right price for this knife

OnionmanThey are cheaper to manufacture, that's why it is at this price it is at instead of the $800 or so that equalivent knives from other country's like shiro out of Russia will make. You can most definitely get it cheaper second hand or from some sites that mark cheaper prices but always beware of clones from unreputable dealers.

BarryOI implore you to check out knives of the same high end production level from other brands like shirogorov. This is a much cheaper knife at the same quality level. Second hand will always be cheaper but the more expensive the knife, the more people make knock offs that look almost the same. Just be careful who you buy from

OnionmanI can't vouch for the individual quality of Rike, but they're midtech. Benchmade is not midtech. And btw they have trash QA. No way would I ever buy one of their Gold class knives.
Their QA is too low to use steel like M390 or S90V, etc. As those steels have to done exactly right or they end up trash and worse than generic S35VN. Furthermore, you won't get a midtech experience from Benchmade.
and FYI, it doesn't matter where a midtech knife is made. Midtech knives are done mostly by machine, and any parts done by hand are done by the master machinist, effectively custom.
and FYI, much like Reate knives, the reason Rike is made in China, is because the master machinist who owns the company is Chinese. These knives are not outsourced, they're made in the home-country of their creator.

OnionmanToo expensive period, regardless of the country of origin ... for that kind of money, I want to sit next to the maker as he (or she) is custom making and assembling my knife, to my specs ! :-)

perlhkrOh, then you should never look at what an actual custom knife costs, let alone the time and effort that goes into making them.
