A sight to behold, the Thor 3 features an intricate industrial-looking design and premium materials, indicative of Rike Knife’s reputation for precision machine work. Made with an integral frame—in which a pocket is created for the blade by removing material from a solid bar of TC4 titanium—this flipper is wicked strong Read More
Anyone have any idea why ONE of the pics of the natural Ti version on this site, shows the Thumb Indent as a complete pass-through hole between one side and the other of the blade? No other pics of this knife, on any seller''s site, this one included, show that indent as a pass-through hole.
nextcityplannerBull. you can see the shadow on the desktop on the opposite side of the blade. Look at it again, the natural Ti finish picture. Heck, look at all of them again and pick it out for yourself.
Rike are pricey for Chinese.
They are high end Chinese knives.
Not really my style. They seem to be more artsy, titanium machined knives for collectors whereas I prefer less of my budget going towards fancy machining and anodizing.
My ZT 0560 has all the fancy machining I could want, was cheaper and still US made. Granted, it's not a one piece machined out chunk of ti like this but practically speaking I don't need that.
Funny, while many Chinese companies are making great knives at good prices, like We, their designs rarely appeal to me. It's like they try too hard, go too far with cut outs and angles they miss the boat.
It's a nice looking knife and I'm sure there is some decent stuff coming out of china.... but I'd love to see more American made knives here. It's just a matter of pride and principal for me.
So.... it came today, but with a completely different colored pivot collar. Sent a message to massdrop support for refund or replacement. I gotta say, this was out of the blue! (yes, I amuse myself)
wickettFor 375$ I'm not impressed with all the scuffing on the finishing... your detailed picture shows that vs the drop photos. I'll definitely be passing
Rike isn't a bad brand as far as Chinese knives go, but at that price I'm going WE or Reate, even if it's a little more. In terms of overall quality, performance and name recognition, should you decide to sell, Rike has a little ways to go before I'll spend that much on one of their knives.
marcsachsYeah it's a Rike budget version of the Thor3, conventional construction and no blade aperture. I've had one for three years or so and love it, aside from a chunky (but still reasonable) grind and a tight clip it's a perfect big folder. The ergos are way better than I expected, too.
I have a 1508s the fit finish and detail on it is phenomenal, but the pivot on mine sucks, lock stick issues, detent ball issues, took three trie with the blue lock tight to get it to stay together and centered.
I’m not enticed at all by this knife if I was wanting another integral it wouldn’t be Rike.I would pay the extra money for an anthem.
