This is not my first Roccat Mouse, not my first roccat product. I’ve had many and I love them all very much. It IS however the only roccat product I’ve ever owned that did not run with the same Swarm software as all the rest of my Roccat products. It isn’t a major problem, but it does bother me. The swarm software is a solid piece of work. It works great, is intuitive, and fast to create and apply custom profiles. Aside from that, that mouse itself is great, I love literally everything else about it

Roccat Tyon: Can't ask for more from a mouse. Perfect for all games and general use. So much customization for every use. Roccat are a brand for mice that i will buy from again.

In the roccat software change the extra buttons you can't select in games to act as numbers on the keypad.

I haven't used the Tyon but the Leadr has the same button setup and I've had no problem using Swarm to map the buttons and rocker for use in Overwatch. My issue is that it weighs like 40 tons. it's a good 50gm heavier than my KPOE and fully twice the weight of my Finalmouse Phantom. It feels too heavy for shooters, which is a shame because I instantly fell in love with using the thumb rocker for melee and crouch.

Software blows. Unable to configure basic settings and some buttons we're inoperative out of the box. The only thing that does work are the light settings. Otherwise it operates as described, responsive and comfortable.

I loved it for it's hefty weight at first, it felt more sturdy, but over time I realised you want a light mouse, for gaming ant the amount of buttons turned out to be too much for me I end up not using half of them but the ones close the the thumb are pretty useful for me personally I love the lighting and the design, the mousewheel started going pretty fast after a bit of excessive use, which is now making some irritatable sound, the sides could have a bit of rubber or something for a better grip because even though I have quite big hands for a mouse this heavy it is a bit slippery so to say and it's not quite ideal for making quick plays all the time. Overall I'm pleased with the purchase but from time to time I do feel like something's missing. P.S. also the lighting doesn't turn off by default for me when you turn the computer off possibly making it quite frustrating for people trying to sleep in a dark room with a bright light bouncing of the walls and all (if someone knows how to turn this off that would help me out, thanks).

I bought the Roccat Tyon specifically for the analog thumb lever. I envisioned using this feature to steer cars in open world games I otherwise prefer to use keyboard and mouse over a controller. Unfortunately I never got the lever to do anything across two separate systems. Roccat seemed completely disinterested and continually requested me to re-install drivers over and over again instead of helping.
I'm still giving the mouse three stars because it feels great in my hand, the extra buttons are useful and the software is fine. If it didn't feel better in my hand I would have returned it to go back to my Razer Death Adder.

I bought a Roccat Kone Pure Owl-Eye to replace my long-lived Logitech G9x. It's very small, very light, and all of the switches are consistent across the mouse. The G9x M3, M4, and M5 are fairly mushy whereas the Kone Pure Owl-Eye's M3, M4, and M5 have the exact same click as the two main buttons. The scroll wheel is slightly bigger than the G9x, has a more pronounced scroll tactility, and the material it is made of has bigger and less frequent grooves in them which makes it easier to keep clean. The Kone Pure Owl-Eye isn't as feature rich as other mice like the G9x but I don't personally need weights, physical scroll settings, or different grip types. I do miss the side scroll capability, but it's not a deal breaker.
Roccat Swarm is the software and it seems perfectly capable. Honestly though I only use it for DPI profiles, LED color, and updating firmware as I do not use macros or Swarm Connect and I do not own anything that is able to use AlienFX or Talk FX. I'd be more inclined to rig up AutoHotkey to do any macros that I might need anyway.
I must not be very tuned in to my own senses as I couldn't tell a difference between the G9x's ADNS-9500 laser sensor and the Kone Pure's PixArt 3361 "Owl-Eye" optical sensor both at 1600 dpi on a high quality Roccat Hiro (original not +) mousepad.

VerusAmicusI'm in the same boat, previously used the Logitech Optical Mouse (the OG "egg" mouse), CM Storm Xornet, Logitech G9, Logitech G303, and now using Roccat Kone Pure. We need more companies develop small form factor claw grip gaming mouse.

I do like the Nyth a lot. The configurable side buttons are fantastic, and the ability to make the mouse wider for my enormous hands is great. Fantastic product. But the Roccat Swarm software that drives it has chronic problems. Their service and support strategy seems to mostly involve utterly ignoring their customers. But great mouse!

I own both the Roccat Tyon and the Nyth. I love Roccat's innovative and forward thinking hardware designs allowing for far more custom configurations than most other mice out there, but I have to say that the software experience has always been quite frustrating. The Nyth is currently my daily driver, which utilizes the Swarm software. The UI is okay and mostly intuitive, but I have had trouble with keybindings and macros actually working while in game. For instance, in Arma 3, I use the TFAR (Task Force Arrowhead Radio) mod and the key combination to open the short wave radio is CTL+P. This seems like a simple request, and my standard keyboard and Razer Orbweaver handle it without issue, but I have a really hard time getting the Swarm software to execute it consistently. This also applies to the long range radio, which is ALT+P. Ive tried several different ways if setting it up in the software including selecting the "hot key" + P as well as just recording the macro straight off of my keyboard. Ultimately, I decided to just let my Razer Orbweaver due the more complex tasks while just keeping simple keybindings on the Nyth. The hardware is excellent, but the software leaves a lot to be desired.

Yeah, the software has been frustrating. It's definitely not a program you play around with. Once you finally get it to work, just leave it! Lol. I can't recommend them either. I love the physical designs and the customize-able nature of them, but the software is a deal breaker. If they could fix the software issues, then they would be great products. The laser sensor in the Nyth does seem to have tracking issues also. Not sure if that's hardware or software related though. If they could replace it with a top-rated optical sensor and make the software experience consistent, then I would be happy. I currently feel stuck with my Nyth as I search for something better with as many buttons.
