6 months after i purchased this set here are my thoughts. decent surround system, decent sound but very weak bass even with level maxed. optical input is strange and only receives center and forward left and right speakers (does not utilize sub or back left and back right speakers). when watching movies or playing video games, if there is little sound or silence for 2 seconds the speakers cut out and auto mute. not sure what the proper term for this would be but essentially you lose out on roughly 7 seconds of sound. this is by far the most frustrating feature. there is no way to disable this.. i am tempted to resort back to my 2.1 speaker system that had better sound and desirable bass. overall i would not purchase this system unless (knowing what i know now) it was under 180$.

Can someone give me an accurate "Shipping Charge" to a residence in Seattle, WA.? If it is in the range stated by Athyes of $110 then it makes far more sense to purchase from a Big Box in my area at Retail, which results in No waiting time, Local support, and the peace of mind knowing I can just return a problem item for exchange. This is worth $40 to me.

Athyes, Yes, the shipping weight on these speakers are about 40lbs and come in a pretty large box. Its not cheap to ship something that size internationally. Sorry about that. @papydeath95

Dude, keep in mind that this is a whole entire speaker set up, and its not meant to be portable either. This set probs weighs 40-50-ish pounds, and you have to safely pack that into a box(which would be frickin huge) and ship that somewhere. 110 is probably average shipping cost, and sounds reasonable to me, tbh.

System is dead on arrival. Incredibly disappointed, since I spent almost two hours crawling around the edges of the room routing and velcroing speaker wire. My knees ache and I'm pissed off.
Problem behavior: On pressing the "Power" button on the control pod, the pod's red backlight (behind the knob) illuminates for maybe a quarter-second, then goes dark. At no point does the blue "POWER" LED ever illuminate.
Troubleshooting steps already taken:
* Verified power outlet is working properly and outputting current.
* Swapped out all the speaker wires with known-good spares to verify there wasn't a short somewhere. Problem behavior unchanged.
* Tried powering on the system with only individual speakers plugged into the red/black terminals (i.e., tried powering it on five times, once with each speaker being the only speaker plugged in). Problem behavior unchanged.
* Tried powering on the system with no speakers plugged in (i.e., no wires inserted into the red/black terminals). Problem behavior unchanged.
* Tried powering on the system with nothing plugged in except for the control pod. Problem behavior unchanged.
* Tried various combinations of button-presses on the pod to see if there's a factory reset button combo or something, but found nothing that worked.
* Tried powering the system on with the remote. Good news: the remote works. Bad news: problem behavior unchanged.
I know DOA items happen every once in a while, but I really really *really* wish that I'd tested this stupid system before wasting all fucking morning on my hands and knees running goddamn speaker cable wire around the goddamn office.
Suggestions? Do I contact the manufacturer?

Heh, no, I'm in the US, so voltage mismatch ought not be an issue.
I contacted Massdrop support and arranged a return, so no more troubleshooting is possible.

Yes I would definitely contact the manufacturer. Tell them exactly what you've told us here and definitely voice your displeasure but I'd try to leave the swearing to a minimum. Chances are, they'll have you send it back (which is annoying) but if you play your cards right I'm sure they will get you a replacement quickly.

Set it up today. aux in and bluetooth inputs worked great. Lots of power for the weight. Very happy with it.

Bulk order shipped! The vendor informed us that the group's order was picked up and is on its way to our warehouse in New Jersey. Based on the tracking provided, the order is scheduled to arrive on 12/8.

As soon as the group's order is ready at the vendor's location, they will send the bulk shipment to our warehouse in New Jersey where our warehouse team will break it up into individual orders and ship them. The current estimated ship date from our warehouse is 12/9.
