livingspeedbumpHello, I am Romly!
Basically nothing makes me an authority on switches, keyboards at all!😅 I'm just a Japanese who love mechanical keyboards. Also I love making something related to mech-key, so I made cute fairy Keycappies which seems to be loved by many people on Massdrop. I'm so happy and honored!

So about this book too, it's not like "academic" or "professional". It's a Doujinshi (fan-book? fanzine?), written by a fan of mechanical keyboards, for a fan of mechanical keyboards. Please don't expect something like 'you can know about everything of twelve switches in the book'. Force-curves are actually measured, but I wrote descriptions of switches in amuse way, not practical. I guess I love the looks, colors of switches and I love personification of switches.
Still I did my best for making this book gorgeous! I bought a force-gauge (which is trigger to making this book) to measure switches by my own, and bought a macro-lens to make switch photos large, crisp, beautiful. Also I really cared about the layouts to make looks cool! Also "Actuation Energy Plots" or "Press curve comparison" in the book are very useful I hope.
RomlyGreat! Having this context is awesome, and makes the book more attractive. You always want to know where a book comes from, especially when it is very artistic like this one appears to be. Thanks for the response!
AugustCanailleI think this is pretty clearly supposed to be more of an art piece/coffee table book than a hardcore infornmation book by what he said, and I'm cool with that! I just wanted to make sure I knew what to expect, because at this price it's a little much to simply impulse buy.
AugustCanailleI have nothing which can be called "collection" , but about my keyboard history, it's roughly like...
Microsoft Internet Keyboard Pro
My father gave it to me for souvenir from USA when I was a child. I think this is the origin why I love keyboards. Bad effect: since that I can't use Japanese layout at all even I'm Japanese.

Yes, every keyboard lovers go through that. I was quite satisfying until I knew Kinesis Contoured.
Kinesis Contoured
Turned out, it was too big to my fingers. Still I remember coworkers' eyes of praise. (yes, actually "eyes of despise", like '$500 for this strange object!? you're so out of your mind!')
MiniVan
I tried lots of keyboards since that such as ErgoDox, so far this is the best.
Thumbxy Keyboard
I've been learning how to make a keyboard now, and my dream is getting so close.
