I purchased a Rothco Soft Shell Jacket as a replacement for a jacket that no longer fit me. I was hoping for it to be a winter jacket and it simply isn't warm enough for that purpose. I am disappointed that the jacket isn't heavier than it is. I'm also disappointed that the exterior pockets can't be used to warm hands as the pockets are up near my pecs and not placed in such a way that your hands can be placed in the pockets when the jacket is being worn. I believe the jacket to be very sturdy and will wear well, but it really doesn't serve my needs.

DO NOT BUY "UNKNOWN PRODUCTS" ON MASSDROP as you can't return them...even if they suck. Back to Amazon I go for products I am not sure about. I knew as soon as I put this on this wasn't near the jacket I hoped it would be. I wore it to the grocery store and put it back in the box it came in thinking I could return it. #1 no exterior pockets for hands...kinda like a sweater. NOT helpful for hands, keys, phone etc. #2 the chest pocket is access point for an abyss to drop your phone into the interior that drops 16"-18". I like chest or sleeve pockets to better hear my phone on the jobsite. Nope. #3 Like your hood rolled up? You won't with this jacket as it's a firm bulbous collar that gets in the way of your peripheral. You feel it on your neck and it gets in the way. The photos conceal this to the point of deceit.

Excellent jacket, if anything too many deep pockets and the rolled up hood is too bunched up. While they could replace a couple of the conceal pockets for hand warmer pockets, I'm not too fussed as I became accustomed to not putting my hands in my pockets when I served. Nice weight and you don't overhead like some soft shell jackets. Overall great jacket. I might order another but in Coyote Brown.

It's a terrible jacket. There are chest pockets that are just holes to the lining and anything you put in it falls to the bottom him. There are not regular pockets where you would put your hands on a cold day. The roll up hood make the collar inflexible and strange. The Velcro pockets where you carry the pistol or ammo are sewn poorly and the fleece like material catches on everything. I never wear this jacket because it has 0 features done well.

Love it, my only issue with it is the inside of it could use a lining. It feels a little off and takes some time to get use to.
Also the torso is a little short, I get that is might be for IWB access. Just think it could have been a tapered cut?

For conceal purposes: if you choose to carry a heavier pistol the velcro pocket on the inside can be of concern on holding the gun without opening on quick movements/jumping. This was a concern of carrying a traditional 1911.
Everyday use: be careful what you layer beneath the jacket as moving around can get quite hot. The outer pockets are not suitable for easily accessing things like your phone and your wallet. This jacket will better suit you if you carry a phone wallet style case or simply putting the cards you carry on your arm/wrist position. Otherwise, you will better off carrying these things in a pants pocket. The upper arm pocket can barely fit my apple plus sized phone. If you use the chest pockets the items will sink all the way down to your waste.
Thoughts: seems on inside of jacket can be uncomfortable with just a t-shirt underneath due to ventilation seeming and additional seem pockets on the arm/wrist. There is no fabric between you and the seems. I'll have to modify this on my own.
Given slight modifications needed the jacket performs as expected for the price.

Not a bad jacket but the fit is not very good. I’m normally a 2x at most but after reading some reviews I ordered a 3x. The jacket is still small but the sleeves are ginormous so it looks pretty stupid when I wear it. I’m not a little guy and my arms are normal-ish I guess but still this jacket is just bizarre in how it fits. The lack of outside front pockets for my hands is another point of failure. I did find that if I remove the hood the collar is less annoying. Basically I would not order another one ever again.

PsykotiqThe sleeves to torso ratio issue you say is spot on. That is my biggest complaint outside the inside missing a liner.

I'd be nice to have hand pockets and an interior pocket that didn't rely on velcro to secure the weapon. I do wear it often, the material is great and it makes a good go-to shell.

Ok, here is the feedback of mine; overall the jacket is good, not the beat but good. It is light first of all, the length is precise especialmy if you driving. Not disturbing when you buckled, like other longer jackets. The hood part is little inconvenient as not bending if you want to zip up full, while it’s folded inside. As they say it is a windbreaker and I felt it since I live in a Windy City. But, if you walk long you sweat quick, this is the only uncomfortable part of the jacket. Do not compare it to other comfy jackets with regards to inner pockets and unsual pockets positioning outside as this is the military jacket as the name states, concealed... I’m happy with purchase and recommend it too. Just to be on a safe side, read description very carefully, watch the video and make sure it is the one you really want before hitting “buy” button. Otherwise it won’t meet your expectations.

An uninspired garment that pretty much screams "concealed carry." The price was right, and I can beat around on the range on in field with it and not worry, but like most Rothco stuff it will never serve as front line gear.
The exterior breast pockets are crazy deep, requiring one to almost dislocate a shoulder to dig a pair of gloves out of the bottom of them. There are no hand warmer pockets, which would be a better use of the garment real estate the deep breasts pockets eat up. The interior pocket presumably meant for a firearm has no means to secure a holster, which might inspire some to carry a pistol loose in that pocket, a Very Bad Idea, particularly for a striker fired pistol sans manual safety, one of the better selling firearms these days.
Fit and finish is "meh" at best with large ugly seams around the magazine pockets, and throughout the garment. I'm a big guy accustomed to having the sleeves on things run short; not so here: the sleeves were a bit too long for my 27 inch (shoulder to wrist) arms. The hood would fit a freaking Wookie, or perhaps King Kong, and hence appears to be less about function and more about impressing the enemy with oversized headgear, just like the Samurais used to do.
I cave and roll around in the dirt with people pounding on me as I attempt to draw rubber guns or aluminum knives and such in search of pressure tested training and so rest knowing I've got something I can leave at an underground entrance and not worry if it gets gnawed by a rat or shredded by a piece of brass when I roll around on the range. Beyond uses such as those this piece of gear pretty much remains hanging on a hook waiting for an excuse to shred it.
