Why is this on Massdrop? Anyone who spent time in the military knows these cleaning kits are trash. Steel rods with threads that get stripped and splayed and brushes guaranteed to bite your fingers. For anyone NOT in the military who isn't mandated to clean their weapon for 4-6 hours before it gets rejected by the dicks in the armory (again), go to literally any gun shop and buy some better lube and cleaning equipment.
Or save your money and go the field expedient way with q-tips, baby wipes, and a scivvy shirt, with liberal amounts of CLP all a round.
This drop is crap and anyone buying it to look military hipster should save their money because it's borderline useless. I didn't realize Massdrop is now military surplus.
Sorry, i would not recommend this kit to anyone that values an accurate rifle. The steel rods do not fit together well, and will scrape the barrel, and damage the riflings at the the muzzle.
Please for the sake of your rifle, use a softer material, like aluminum or brass!
The threads were not aligned straight. Mil-spec doesn't always mean good. Government contracts are fulfilled by the lowest bidder.
You say they're good for spraying lead. Sure, a stick will get the job done too. This kit will work, but at what risk?
When accuracy counts, you want to use a softer material with no chance of damaging your rifle. I will never use steel rods, (SS or otherwise) in my rifles again.
FrydaddyYeah, I'm not suggesting anyone buy them or that they are good. I just don't remember them being sloppy. I agree with all of the above...these are wannabe military hipster. I was in the military and I chose to buy a different kit years ago.
