Rothco's mechanics bag has eight inside pockets that are specifically designed to organize and store tools. Made of heavyweight cotton canvas, the bag is durable enough to carry weighty instruments without losing its shape Read More
They're just a hair too small. Really not a lot of organization options either - I do use one as a small emergency kit for my car, but it can't really hold enough for that job either.
If you want to put actual tools in it, you either can't utilize the space (throw a set of wrenches in there and you'll run out of space or create a mess that you'll never be able to organize)
Too big for small, hobby kits, too.
Really well made though. I found a use for the second as a case for my dremel since it doesn't have one. But I still feel like it just isn't a good use for the bag.
I'd take one that was about two or three inches longer, wider, and deeper, with some more organization options.
I use this as my range bag and I've been very happy with it. It's holding up well and still looks great. If I had one tiny quibble it'd be that the side pocket snaps are very hard to engage.
”MADE IN CHINA”
don’t expect to find some American made quality here, button clasps are awful to use.
this bag is great but the organization only fits small skinny tools like screw drivers, try to organize any large wrenches/pliers and it quickly becomes a mess.
for 13$ I’m not surprised it’s made in China. Drop should make it clear where goods are manufactured.
Good bag. Some tools will be too large to fit in this bag as it's not the largest tool bag (reason for 4-stars). But, the bag isn't useless. I use it to carry my pistol to the range. Fits nicely in there with a few mags.
bookworm13@bookworm13 The way I read it they are talking about both the size of the bag AND the fact the pockets are segmented, twp separate statements.
I've bought several clones of G.I. mechanics tool bags online in the past, this is the first one that didn't disappoint me. As a former G.I. myself, I still have one of the "real thing", so I have a good idea what is genuine. This bag is surprisingly faithful to the real thing, the only major criticism is the little socket pockets on the inside are too few. But the details in the workmanship and design are far beyond any other "civilian" product I've ever seen. I'm hoping they do another 'drop on this one so I can get a spare.
