" This product contains a chemical known to the state of California to cause cancer, birth defects, and other reproductive harm. "
Well that sold me lol
milchIn all fairness, that warning is on everything, it basically means nothing. I think even my kids' cribs had it. Coke and Pepsi changed a coloring ingredient to avoid having to put the warning on their products even though people would have to drink something like 1,000 cans of soda a day for the chemical that was in the coloring to pose any danger. So the warning is pretty much useless and totally stupid.

dandw12786They told my grandfather DDT was perfectly safe up to a limit.
Then he got ms.
dandw12786My friend drunk a few cans of Coke a day everyday all his life. He died from lung cancer at the age of 63. RIP
The problem with 4-MEI in caramel coloring is not that one should consume 1000 cans of soda per day to get cancer, but rather a long-term low dose exposure .

That being said this Rothco duffel is unlikely uses anything dangerous... The warning is probably because of some lead content in welding or in the canvas dye.
milchEverything contains a chemical known to the state of California to cause cancer. Hel, 100% of the people that have ever gotten cancer have breathed oxygen and drank water, so I’m sure O2 and H2O would be labeled as cancer causing chemicals in California.
brainwaveCA now wants to label all coffee as carcinogenic despite hundreds of studies showing it is has a positive impact on health and at worst not harmful.
Its a state with major problems that likes to focus on non-problems.
BBJonesThanks for your comment. While this is not a discussion about coffee and coffee has been shown to have some health benefits (it also has negative health effects), over-roasted or very dark roasted coffee indeed contains cancerous acrylates (google it). I was well aware of that and I don't need any warning from the government, but many people don't know.
It's ok with me when government warns about impending dangers of hazardous chemicals and then leave it to people to decide whether to use the product or not, it's not ok when they begin to decide for the people and introduce taxes or in any way interfere.
milchThat is there to cut down on the shit-tonne (that's a metric system thing) of bogus lawsuits flooding the courts: "You can't say you weren't warned."
Well that sold me lol
