This sizing issue doesn't seem to just be a Rothco thing, I think it's just a general thing with M-65 jackets. I bought the Mil-Tec (Sturm) version of it not too long ago (and not on Massdrop) and the Medium was enormous so I switched to a Small. (I'm 5'7"ish and 165ish).
If I recall, the sizing chart for the Mil-Tec actually specified that the measurements were *garment* not *person* which is really really weird, but might explain the oddly-slightly-larger numbers.

Just_RobI agree: it's partly an M-65 thing. These were designed to wear over uniform and allow unrestricted movement. Mil-Tec's jacket was a bit bigger than I expected; wearable, comfortable, but a bit too spacious to be fashionable. Rothco"s jacket was even bigger! I feel pretty comfortable telling people to size down on this by one size, anyway.
