In point of fact, this is *exactly* what I used as my default writing implement from 3rd grade on through my Sophomore year in high school. :P
I spent a sizable portion of my childhood in a tiny town in New Jersey dominated by the offices of Koh-i-Noor, a rOtring company. They were always donating lots of cool stuff to the local school-- which I didn't attend but my little sister did --art supplies, and things. I won a rOtring 600 Series Pencil and Ballpoint Pen set in a raffle at the school...which I basically treated like it was the friggin One Ring until one day in high school, I couldn't find it... It turned out my sister decided to 'borrow' it and take it to school... Never. Saw. It. Again. Still have the case though. (Some 17 years later.)
Sadly while the mechanical pencils are easy to find... The ballpoint pens are damn-near impossible to get for any reasonable price. :(

BakamoichigeiI had a similar experience with a mech pencil and rollerball set. I need to get that rollerball back in my life.
