I'm not a huge fan of that font, but the keycaps themselves actually look rather nice. They seem to be of nice quality. Digging the ones with the Green and Red font.

I think that font is required for double shot, with the opening at the bottom so the plastic can flow into the letter. Also, that's a pretty cool profile pic.

It's not required for doubleshots. Purely a stylistic choice, not a very good one.

Ummm no... GMK doubleshots have beautiful legends and they are all doubleshots

Oh okay, apologies then. I just see this font a lot on doubleshot keycaps. Ducky has it too.

Since the color fill is solid, not the waffle pattern used on others double shots, there are no gaps to allow the second shot of plastic to flow into any gaps in the first, so the first shot has to have gaps somewhere. So you are right. The inset is shot first and then the second shot for the rest of the cap.

This is an example of doubleshot ABS caps with no waffle pattern. The font is completely normal. You can find the thread on GH, for some reason MD isn't allowing me to post up the full link. It is in the JT Keycaps Group buy thread.

Not a big waffle pattern but you can see they had to add slots in the inset to allow the color to fill in. Same purpose.

They are not GMK, they are made by JT Keycaps. This buy was a partnership with Bunnylake/CtrlAlt. They are cherry profile, and thick. Similar to GMK, but not as expensive, and it gives the community many more design choices since they are not limited to GMK's color pallet.

I don't doubt you are right about how the color fills in, I do see the little slots on the underside of the caps. I am not well schooled on the mechanics of plastic molding though. From my untrained eye, these legends look no different than, say GMK legends, or other caps that do have waffle.

I don't have mine yet (but I am very anxious to receive them!). From what I have been told though, the feel is very close to GMK. I do have several GMK sets, and I love them. My favorite profile is Cherry, and there is nothing better than typing on thick Cherry profile caps. I don't know what these would feel or sound like in comparison to that, but for $20, it seems worth the risk.
I do have a set of Vortex PBT doubleshots, but I haven't used them in quite some time. They are OEM profile, which is not my preference. I can say though, that the board you put them on will have a big say in the sound as well.

Inanis, just to be clear though, I believe you are referring to the GH group buy, which is not the same as this Massdrop?

Yes, you care correct. They are totally different. I was only using that as an example of a double shot keycap with no waffle pattern and normal fonts.

Would consider buying keycaps if they weren't OEM profile.
