Just got my board today, but thier Tiny87 software says my keyboard isn't connected despite the fact I'm using it to type this message... Anyone know how to fix this?
EDIT: I downloaded it through their website as I don't have a disc drive.
Its because the Tiny87 software is meant for the 1st gen of the Keyboard, the one that you have right now is the 2nd gen, so you would need to use the software in the provided disc, or if you dont have a disc reader you can see my previous post here, i posted a dropbox link which contains the software which I believe should work for the 87-key variant of this keyboard.
Damn, so fast. I found your thread after posting my previous message and was gonna delete this. You're a live saver. Thanks!
... and now I'm having trouble with actually using the software. I program the keys I want to reconfigure and the light settings, hit the write/program buttons, but nothing changed. What am I doing wrong? (eg. changing Capslock to FN)
for setting the color of the LEDs go to LightSet and use either set all or multikey, pick the color, and select program.
as for programming the keyboard I believe you have to press fn + pause to make it programmable. Mine does not seem to work however. Just tried using fn + pause, i can program it, but I cant seem to exit the programming mode.
I got the lights to change (except the space bar... I've factory restored it but the space bar is on its own setting apparently), but not the key remapping. The frustration is real.
Hit FN+spacebar, I figured that out when it was all crazy while the rest of the board was one color
Pinecone, I'll list the steps to config the keyboard:
1. Open the Kb87 software
2. press Fn + Pause
3. and then on the software click readall
4. config each key to how you want it to be
5. and then click writekeys
6. and then save
7 and press Fn + Pause again to exit programming mode
Hope this helps.
I got the key remapping to work by holding FN + Pause for 2 seconds to change to custom mode. In custom mode, all the key remappings I made with Tiny86 worked fine. To get back to the stock "Office" mode with the stock mappings, hit FN + Pause again for 2 seconds.
