Liars. At checkout, you'll have your choice of the least popular colors. And you'll take what we give you.
A lost sale is a lost sale, and a disgruntled customer is a disgruntled customer. If supplies are limited or particular colors are likely to sell out quickly, then state that clearly up front. Better, use your sales history to produce the right ratios in the first place. Just in time manufacturing is older than you are.
My guess is that this is overstock, but they never tell you that either. I can buy a nice knit cap anywhere and have it today or this week, not late next month. Massdrop is making a killing, so I doubt they care, but monopolistic practices suck, even if they can get away with them.
I used to like Massdrop when it was small and focused on high end gear. Now it's just a cheaper Sharper Image. Worse, the dicussion lists are full of assholes who think that scorn and abuse are clever public behavior and are proud of their dickishness. I buy a lot less from Massdrop these days. Soon, I'll surrender it to the dicks.
