Can't say I'm a big fan of the quarter century pants I backed on Kickstarter.

RPMWESTI have before – the trousers were sent back as they weren’t the right size (I paid for shipping), and because I couldn’t get a refund, and the right size wasn’t in stock, they were altered – again, I was asked to pay for shipping (so I choose the alternative option of having it sent through a free but much slower method). When I received them they were fine, but I again had to pay for an ‘import charge’ (I had already paid one when I first received the trousers). So in the end, lots of back and forth and misc. fees to pay, meaning that in the end I must have paid twice the actual price of the trousers.

funknflexMan, that would kill it for me. I love to be loyal to a company that makes great products and that treats each of its customers like its their only one (assuming of course that said customer is reasonable and not just an entitled jackass). But being repeatedly asked to pay for shipping for something that was not even your responsibility, I'd have a hard time to go back. You'd hope that RPMWEST would try to ensure that customers have glowing reviews not only on the product but also on the way customers are being treated. Although I can only speak for myself, but I have learned that it pays to pay a premium knowing that a) the product is of superb quality and b) the company will take care of me even after the sale. Otherwise, I'd feel like I am dealing with a car salesman who will do anything to get my money into his/her pocket w/no further services as soon as I am off the lot. Companies like Nordstroem, Tilly's, Costco, Florsheim, Saddleback, etc., figured that out and customers keep coming back to repeat a no hassle shopping experience knowing that one will purchase a good product and if not, be taken care of. Good luck to you.

funknflexHi funknflex, if we mistakenly send out the wrong size and charge you for the return shipping please get in touch and we will refund that amount. If the jacket was sent correctly and/or you are a Kickstarter backer but didn't fit and you are an international customer we, unfortunately, have to charge for shipping. Thank you for your understanding and never hesitate to reach out via help@rpmwest.com.

RPMWESTExcept that there is no possibility for return. I accept that I am going to be responsible for the shipping charges if I select the wrong size, but to make this a final sale considering how vague the size descriptions are (and I don't believe those complaints/concerns to be rare, considering the frequency it was brought up within the Kickstarter and the fact that an exchange system was established so that buyers could get rid of the jackets that did not fit them), does not strike me as exceptional service. Come up w/a better fit description, such as defining how these measurements are obtained so that the customer could arrive at a decision that is based on on something reliable and valid instead of mere guessing and then hoping for the best. Reviewing the Kickstarter comments, for example, I have learned that the inside CF of the jackets are 3 inches less than the outside circumference, which also maps to the outside CF sizes that increase in 3's (42, 45, 48,51,54) suggesting that folks should choose S if body CF is up to 39 all the way to XXL with a chest CF of up to 51. Unfortunately, all that is again speculation based on Kickstarter comments. It would be much more helpful if such information would come from the RPMWEST so that I know I could rely on the info. It would also relieve RPMWEST from the responsibility of having to reply to customer inquiries about size recommendations as customers could figure out their sizes w/a satisfying level of certainty. And all of that is too bad. I would think that this drop would have been much more successful if there would not be as much uncertainty. $145 bucks is a lot of money to waste on clothing that won't fit, despite the significant discount that this drop offers. In fact, the present price is cheaper than the actual Kickstarter price. I certainly wish RPMWEST well; there are a lot of US entrepreneurs that offer fantastic products made with solid quality resulting in great longevity, which goes back old school when you knew you would pay for quality but you bought an item only once instead of the seemingly attractive crap that breaks after the 3rd use with which the market is awash today. I personally hope that we as a society are coming full circle expecting, appreciating and receiving high quality for which we are also then willing to pay for to motivate vendors to continue to deliver quality product. And now I get of my soap box.
