Can we get a picture of the bottom of the bag? Are the sides and bottom one piece? Is the flap to the bottom of the back one solid piece? Any more construction information would be appreciated!
Shazb0tHi,
I'm the designer of the bag. The gusset (bottom and sides panel) has one seam in it in the bottom. The seam is taped and sewn so the joint is actually stronger than the leather itself and the seam tape (an extreme adhesive made by 3M for waterproofing backpack seams) ensures it's every bit as water proof as the rest of the bag. If your carrying lots of weight in any shoulder bag your going to develop back problems many years before there would be any problems with this bag's bottom seam. Also if there is ever an issue the bag is covered under our Lifetime Guarantee.
RuggedMaterialI appreciate the response! If you guys end up making a briefcase that has the sides and bottom as one solid piece of leather with a similar design at this price point I'll be all over it.
Yes, it requires a large piece of leather with decent scrap, but that would approach the quality of bags that are ~$600 or more as stated on your website. Good luck with the drop!
Description says: "14-inch laptop pocket". So will this fit the new 15" MacBook Pro? If not counting diagonal, 15" MacBook Pro is only 11.97 wide. Anyone tried it out? For example MacBook Air (diagonal 13.3") is 12.8 inch and therefor wider than 15" MBP.
So basically if it fits MacBook Air, it should fit MBP easily.
15" MBP specs:
Height: 0.59 inch (1.49 cm)
Width: 11.97 inches (30.41 cm)
Depth: 8.36 inches (21.24 cm)
edit: I also checked the original kickstarter page from 2014 and they advertised that the bag will fit 15" MBP. Sent a question to the maker.
Hey Tyler, thanks for the reply just wondering what you can tell me about these bags I saw in your video. Could they be added to this drop?
Are these a different color than offered here, or is it just a lighting issue?
