I received mine a couple of days ago. I haven't tried it for warmth yet, but first impression is that it's REALLY sparse on the down. It almost feels like there's barely anything in there.
Now, I have plenty of down jackets and vests of all kinds of temperature ratings and fill ratings (from bulk duck feathers to 800 fill), down comforters, down sleeping bags, and this is the first one where I'm actually fearful that I've been ripped off for the cost and how little fill there appears to be inside.
Compared to the Eddie Bauer goose down throw, which is my favorite down throw and what inspired me to spring for this one, the Eddie Bauer seems to have at least three times the amount down in each baffle.
I also have two of Rumpl's synthetic blankets and am happy with them. They seem stuffed with insulation you might expect in a sleeping bag.
The down throw, however? No way.
Again, I haven't tried it for warmth yet, so can't pass final judgment. But I have a sinking feeling in my stomach.
I hope this isn't the buying experience that will keep me from buying any more Rumpl products going forward. That's a serious statement. I hate being ripped off, and make my purchasing decisions accordingly.
I will keep you updated, but am very eager to hear other people's experience.
