This is a great game for 4x epic game fans! In the vein of Star Wars Rebellion but with more than 2 players, or Twilight Imperium with a fantasy theme and shorter playtime :).
Speaking of which - please do a Twilight Imperium drop for the new edition (ideally with game organizational insert bundled in)!!

timechangeYou're thinking of runewars first edition. This is a miniature skirmish game much like star wars legion or even a bit like xwing with how the army commands work.

chaosgoatThank you! You are absolutely right, and I stand corrected - thank you for pointing this out. Runewars Miniatures just came out last year it seems, and I was referencing the 2010 original Runewars boardgame release. Gotta do some quick research on the mechanics and if I can justify yet another minis skirmish game on top of my already embarrassingly over-indulgent collection... :)
Have you tried it yet, and have any perspectives on how it compares to other fantasy minis skirmishers (e.g. Warmahordes, Warhammer, Malifaux)? Or is this more like a Fantasy version of X-wing?

timechangeMore like a fantasy xwing in terms of squads and movement and what not. It's neat. Reminds a bit of xwing meets old Warhammer fantasy. It's an odd beast and not really a skirmish game.
