so excited for this Massdrop! 25oz fabric is NOT easy to make and very hard to work with. Fantastic for next winter and gives me a little extra time for some extra weight loss. I hope the shrinkage will bounce back so that a true 32" won't wind up being much tighter... One other thing - checking over at Sage's webpage... they also are selling these jeans for $149.99 and NOT the listed $188 with a markdown for us to $150. So why use Massdrop at all? Well, because to buy directly from Sage will require paying in local Indonesian currency and there will be a credit card fee for doing an exchange into Indonesian RP. We also have Massdrop customer service (if needed). And finally... FREE SHIPPING which Sage doesn't offer at their website. So there is a savings through Massdrop... and also some nice bragging rights, too! 25oz selvedge unsanforized denim... SO COOL!!!! I WANT IT!

JDOUBLEHIndeed, the shipping fees from Indonesia to the rest of the world is where most our savings to consumers are -- specially in the case of this pretty hefty pair of 25oz denim. Thanks for your interest and hope you get to join the drop! :)

TomasVThanks! I backed this drop before commenting! I'm #2 though #3 got purchased almost at the same time. We needed at least 2 sold for this Massdrop to move forward so it is ON! Also, you are totally right: the weight on these jeans is more than double a regular pair (most Levi's are with 11 oz)) so shipping would I suspect otherwise cost $20-30 to the USA. This is going to be some stiff denim to break in, too... but it will be worth it - the fades will be that much more nuanced and it will be strong! Would be really cool if we also had other colors to fade to... used to be a lot of denim was indigo x light gold instead of white and then the fades would blend across indigo/light gold. I think such selvedge denim is sourced still from Turkey. I'd like to see Massdrop also work on getting hand-loomed (and even hand-spun! - "Khadi") denim from India. The fabric is sourced from Denim Club India (www.denimclubindia.org) and they also sell some products too (https://handloomdenim.com) - very cool stuff for lightweight fabric that is woven on looms without electricity and their clothing is sewn on push-pedal non-electric sewing machines by one seamstress rather than assembled by multiple workers. I've reached out to them with some questions and I see that they nominally are available on Amazon but it's all a bit dicey: haven't heard back from them and customizations for fit aren't clear enough to trust to purchase on my own. I am thinking about it because here too then is where Massdrop creates an opportunity for a simpler/safer structure for purchasing from abroad. I am eager for the lightweight denim shirt from India (with full sleeves): https://handloomdenim.com/shop/apparel/handloom-denim-shirt-men/

JDOUBLEH@JDOUBLEH Hey man - just jumping in about hand looming from India. I, too, am a big fan of any place that grows, spins, dyes (vegetable dye is a plus if it is color fastened) and looms their own fabrics has my vote. Also, check out semi-dormant brand Three Animals Paris made in small villages in China and Umber & Ochre, rising star brand HQ'd in SF that's made in small family collectives in India. Both contradict the common perception of how & what those countries produce. Made in the USA is attractive , but what really get my big toe shooting up in my boot is upholding a craft combined with single origin source and build. Hope you enjoy your Sage's, looks like you are going to have a very fun & complex friendship with your new 25 Oz friend.

JDOUBLEHThis version isn't actually available on the sage site. The model offered here is the Tundra while the sage anniversary is the Everest with the special patch and potentially darker dye (listed as "deep indigo"). Not that this isn't still a savings on shipping but you are definitely missing out on some of the limited anniversary goodness if that matters to people.
