anyone else thinking of teaming this up with the 2.5w laser to make a home defense robot?

Just received mine today. Under the "Specs", it is listed as containing the Arduino controller, but under actual contents there is no mention of a 2560 included. Mine did not come with one so please be aware you will have to buy that separate.

I've used this robot in a college project before and wouldn't recommend it. The servos are only strong enough to lift the robot itself and the screws on the robot need to be tightened daily to make sure it doesn't fall apart. Joints 2 and 3 on the arm also inhibit each other from working properly. It's just not very well designed.

Thanks for turning me away from this. There are so many negatives!

We purchased 2 of these for an engineering project. The servos are not strong enough to hold the arms weight if mounted vertically. We had to replace several servos that didn't work out of the box and the overall construction was very low quality. I'd avoid them at any cost.

Received my arm but the controller was not in the box along with it. Did anyone else have this issue?

How much weight can it hold on the end of the arm? I was thinking if I could place a small Sony RX100? To do this... desk version... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UIwdCN4dV6w

Does anyone know if / how well this arm can link up with ROS?

I suspect that if this was actually usable for anything, at least one of the videos would show it doing something besides just moving in free space. I guess it would teach you how to write up an arduino and some servos.
