Great news group! The vendor has let us know that the group's order was picked up and is on its way to our warehouse now. Based on the tracking provided these are scheduled to come in tomorrow. Our warehouse team has been forwarded tracking info and will be standing by, ready to get these packed up and turned around as soon as they come in.
Sometimes shipments get delayed en route, not to worry as we will keep the group posted throughout the process and notify you all if anything causes delay.

Thanks again for joining the drop with the community. We submitted the group’s order with the vendor for the Samson RTE 2 shortly after the drop ended and they have begun preparing it for shipment.
Once the group’s order is ready at the vendor’s location, they will send the bulk shipment to our fulfillment center where we’ll break it up into individual orders and ship them off to you as soon as possible.
The moment we receive confirmation regarding the shipping schedule from the vendor, we will provide you all with updated information on the status of your package.
Expect an update from us on 2/12 or sooner.

This one seems pretty light on the features for a $169.99 MSRP. At least from the stated description, it lacks aptX codec compatibility, active noise cancellation, and microphone noise suppression.

NeoteriXIt does have AptX support, it's just not listed here. I find Massdrop doesn't always give a complete description of the product.

89.99 is already a good deal for a decent pair of wireless headphones. Usually they're around 200ish or more.

For anyone who owns one - how often do you experience drops in an interference-heavy environment like an apartment building? My last bluetooth headset was a giant piece of garbage without any interference, constantly dropping just a foot away from the transmitter so I'm kinda wary

ElspinNot sure this one's been release in the wild yet, so I'll take a stab at this one. There was a huge number of bluetooth products that performed pretty crappily/even failed to connect under CES show conditions because everyone was trying to demonstrate their own products.
The RTE 2 paired instantly to my phone without any troubles and I was able to get a proper demo. Now of course, your mileage may vary. It would suck if you end up joined the drop only to experience a ton of drops (hehe), but that it worked without a hitch under show conditions makes it pretty promising.

Heyo,
So one of the companies that impressed me most at CES was Samson. They came out with two pairs of headphones targeting the consumer market, and both of them sounded good, were jam packed with features, and hit a very reasonable price point.
The RTE 2 is the first one to make it to market. Good clean sound, good comfort. Quite a decent bass hit on these despite being Bluetooth, and an on-ear design that doesn't clamp hard on the ears. Shout out to my big-headed brethren - these extend out far enough to fit comfortably.
The Bluetooth connection has been excellent in my experience, I walked a good 20-30 feet away from my phone before starting to hear crackling. The touch buttons for volume up, down, pause/play and track skipping is great, less fumbling with the phone in your pocket.
Also, a microphone to take incoming calls of pretty decent quality, called a few people who could understand what I was saying under fairly noisy office settings. All of this without a cost that breaks the bank? Yes please.
If you can't tell, I'm pretty excited about this one.
