Maybe it is pricier, but it seems to ship to more places, too (though you'd be paying a mint for it).
I say what I say because I evaluate products for a living, and I specialize in men's wear. Simply put, Saphir doesn't hold us 'as well' as other brands. Price for price, the average man is likely to get better value from Lincoln.
Further, popularity doesn't equate to quality. Generally speaking, popularity isn't always the best choice when shopping. I've never recommended a product or service because it's popular. I am skeptical that it's popular worldwide when two different google searches (best/popular) Saphir pops up only twice.
Look, it's a matter of taste. On the flip side of that, there is 50 years of experience on my team, and Saphir ranks high, but the cost doesn't translate to overall quality. I think this is an inferior choice for Massdrop, though.
SpuchuuIt has been proven more than a couple of times by different methods by people in AAAC and StyleForum that Lincoln has better longevity (which is why its the choice of military personnel), but Saphir medaille d'or (not thier regular line) allows for a better glaze and permeates the leather better.
If anything Lincoln would be inferior because of the quality of the ingredients (I personally wouldn't call it so though), but the real choice is if its more important that the shine lasts slightly more or that the product is slightly better for your leather.
It's important to note that this is a wax polish not a cream polish. There are differences between the two best explained in this video:

BottsFWIW, I usually try buying waxes in a slightly different shade from the shoe I'm applying to. The reason is that I only apply wax on the toes and heels, and having a slightly different shade gives it a nice patina. The wax layer that you form will be translucent - that is you'll be able to see the colors below the wax layer. So this gives it a really nice effect in different light angles - at some angles you see the base more, at some you'll see the wax color being reflected more. :)
Also, applying layers of wax in different colors is also fun! (eg red, mid brown on a tan shoe).
Tz2000Neutral polish will NOT cover any scratchs or nicks in the leather surface. Only a polish containing pigmentation will do that. Neutral will enhance the color that already exists, especially browns.
Why this no longer ship to AU? I've been anticipated this drop and extremely disappointing that you guys only ship domestic US this time around. Is it the Trump effect on MD?
