An update for the group, the vendor is currently waiting for the allotment of the Satchel & Page journals to arrive. They are scheduled to come into the vendor's warehouse by the end of this week. The vendor will then package the group's order and ship it to our warehouse, where it will be broken up and shipped individually to you. We will make sure to keep the group updated on the progress of this order.
Thanks for your patience and expect an update from us on 8/14 or sooner if something comes up.
HassanSI had the impression that Satchel & Page crafted their own products locally as opposed to mass produced imports. The phrase "waiting for their allotment to arrive" seems to contradict this.
I have nothing against "imported" products but I believe they should be declared as such. Throwing around phrases such as "hand-stitched" and "we've been crafting waxed canvas and leather bags for 2 years" arguable encourages the impression of a local artisan manufacture. Please correct me if I'm mistaken.
MingRegarding imported products and country of origin: These journals are made in a small workshop in Italy. S&P has made some products in Austin TX and continues to do so, but also uses a couple other workshops as well.
The term 'hand stitched' certainly isn't a marketing term and we aren't using it as such. These journals are saddle stitched, a method of hand stitching that is much rarer and more time intensive than machine stitching, along with being superior in durability (if 1 stitch comes loose only that stitch is loose, not the entire stitching line like a machine stitch).
We certainly had no intention of being misleading because there's nothing to be misleading about, in my opinion. This is a solid product at a solid price. It's made in Italy using high-end materials and construction methods.
Let me know if there are any other questions!
high1Thanks!
I would recommend the following options for leather care. For any of these, you can apply every couple of months. They will hydrate, waterproof, and soften the leather.
1. Satchel & Page leather salve - beeswax based and very easy to apply
2. Obenauf's Leather Oil - this will darken the leather the most of any of the products.
3. Drop Forge Leather Dressing - similar to Obenauf's but won't darken as much
SatchelandPageI just wanna use Satchel & Page leather salve, but there's out of stock on website
+shipping rates for leather salves was almost same cost as this journal
So If you sell them on Massdrop, It will be best for me.
Is there any other ways to get them, please tell me(change Out of stock-> In stock on the website, personally buy them, etc)
I'm really impressed with Satchel & Page leather salves. I hope I can use them soon!
