Last post I promise. Hell of a lot of rationalising going on here. A pen loop should hold...pens! Not just pencils. This journal cover only had two jobs 1. to hold journals 2. to hold pens. It does one of these well. If they had advertised "leather journal cover with loop suitable for needle-like pens or pencils" , hey I wouldn't be complaining. As to the guy who thinks using the loop with the pen clipped on the outside, good luck with that. You'll end up with a nice collection of pen lids.

ianashThe pictures they posted pretty clearly showed the pen loop wouldn't hold anything thicker than the mechanical pencil in it. There are many pens that exist in which the body screws into the cap and in these cases the pen should be fine clipped to the loop.
