Just a note for people who are considering buying these glasses. Different wines require different shapes of stemware. The description states that these glasses will be good for white, red and rosé which is just false. These appear to be Pinot noir glasses and that is all I would pour in them. The flutes should be used just for sparkling wine but their shape is slightly more wide than I am used to seeing. For people looking for glasses for these purposes Zwiesel makes quality product but don't let the description make you think these are suited for every type of wine.

ZachMRight... And to add onto this... Sparkling wine and champagne really should be consumed from a white wine glass, if you really want to properly taste it. However, it looks much cooler in a champagne flute, so these flutes might be a little better than regular flutes. Also, I have glasses of this brand already and they are excellent and durable when compared to Riedel glasses, which are excellent and fragile.

JaremyReally? I was always under the impression that proper flutes kept wine bubbly longer, as well as trapping CO2 which some would argue is a critical part of a sparkling wines bouquet. Although as a person who prefers his sparkling wine much more on the flat side maybe I will take up drinking it from an all purpose white wine glass or a Chard glass

ZachMYeah, I was surprised as well. But all the wine professionals I have talked to or mentioned this to agree. They say that it doesn't really allow the wine to breathe if it is in a narrow glass, so the wine stays tight. And while, the tall thin glass appears more elegant and lets the bubbles travel farther, it's just for show.

ZachMSo true, Zach! And yet, it could also be argued that these would be more pleasant to drink decent wines out of than say mason jars or some cheapo thick-rimmed glasses, and if your storage space is limited, burgundy glasses work well for Barolos and Chardonnay too. Just saying. :) And my somm friends schooled me on flutes too! Who knew?
