When this dropped for me it was under £10 and this review is based on that!
Not a bad quality knife, even if it was double the price I paid, I wouldn't complain. It's a pretty good steel for a cheap knife and an incredible steel for knife as cheap as this.
The only thing I dislike about this knife is the thumb stud is only on one side which is infuriating when you want to open it left handed. The main bolt in the knife is also a bit flimsy looking and probably would break if threw it into a block of wood or something but I don't feel it's fair to complain about that for the price.
Overall I'd recommend this just as a knife that you will be happy to damage as it's pretty disposable at the price I paid.
Good knife for the price but I rarely carry it. Takes up a lot of room in the pocket. Steel is mediocre. The deal breaker is the tip down only pocket clip. But for under $10 this knife is a total steal. A great beater.
I’ve always loved Schrade knives. It had been a while since I last bought one because they last forever. To be quite honest, I bought this one because it’s a beautiful, functional knife. It would be worth it at twice the price of this drop.
MarcS1222They used to be a good company before their IP (but not manufacturing) were bought by Taylor Brands and all production moved to China. I hear that Smith & Wesson may have bought Taylor and we all know the quality of their knives.
This is a sturdy knife good for tough jobs. That being said it is worth noting that it came from the factory needing sharpened. The finish is already wearing off from riding in my pocket and being pulled in and out. In my opinion it is a good work knife worth every penny of the $8.29 I paid for it but I would feel ripped off paying retail.
It's a little hefty but over a fine knife for the price. Grip could be a little better gets a little slick when wet and not the most comfortable but I have used worse.
pros:
came sharp ish
sturdy
fells good in hand
good value for money
cons:
hard to open with one hand
scratches on the side of the blade and grease on the handle (looks used)
The edge is skewed from one side at the base of the blade and skews to the other side to the tip. So it looks like /| on the base and then |\ at tip. It's still sharp and it was very cheap so I wont be upset if I lose it.
