Looking at a PC build and was going to get a 1tb HDD and 500GB SSD, but wow these prices are lower than what I could find from newegg. I couldn't really find the same MFR# on any other websites. Some show the item, but the MFR# are still different. The 1TB version is around $25 cheaper than newegg. For the 2TB is $40 dollars cheaper than newegg, don't people usually say that is a great deal?

I have pretty much sworn off sata interface SSD's. I have a pair of late model SSD's inside my iMac 20122 running in raid-0; just got this https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1365961-REG/g_technology_0g06052_500gb_g_drive_mobile_ssd.html and hung it on my thunderbolt->usb 3 adapter. Faster than my raid-0 pair on write, not quite as fast on read but plenty good. If I had a current system I would want M.2 but failing that the above G-drive is my preference. Sata (for SSD's) r.i.p.

Nothing to see here, another useless PC related drop. You can find cheaper and better SSDs in the wild, and without the wait.

Cool, so I went to go find the specifications based on your "Evo 870", which is Evo 860 from what I found, typo I guess. Samsung spec on performance alone is lower than this seagate model.

Since, I am keen on pricing, I noticed that the Pro 1TB is $280. That is a huge difference in price for literally the same specs. Can you concur on this? or am I looking at something wrong? I am not a fan of Seagate, Sky Hynix, or Samsung. Just want the bang for my buck. Please comment back and let me know your 2 sense.

MightyWarriorSAMSUNG Evo is the king of SSDs, wether you like it or not, facts are facts and you can just check the benchmarks, and for sure they're the most reliable. Here's the first link I found on google https://www.storagereview.com/seagate_barracuda_ssd_review
The QD1 number in this Seagate ssd is very low.
As I said the ssd prices on black friday were as low as 100$ for 1TB, Evo 860 for 110$ (I think, or 115), they're dropping fast around 10$ monthly, I wouldn't buy a 1TB for anything more than 120$.
Massdrop is also a slow shipper, you can get a different brand from somewhere else and you get it in 2 days.
Anyway, it' up to you, I'm done discussing. I wouldn't buy it from here for sure, price difference should be worth the wait to even think of purchasing it.

REEV3SThis is often true of storage media. Doubly so for solid state storage. You are paying for more cutting edge, denser storage packages. Often the 500GB, 1TB and 2TB SSDs have the same number of storage chips. The higher storage tiers simply use bigger capacity packages.
Also, the higher capacity SSDs usually perform better than lower capacity. Though this is most apparent when jumping from 128 & 256 up to 512 and 1024 capacities.
