Unsure if I'm not using/washing it right, but my feet get soaking wet when riding in the rain now. Not really waterproof. Very disappointed on that front though it is the first time I've worn socks this long without tearing holes at the ankle part.

I use a older version which I bought for a canyoning trip. It fits very large and is not very comfortable - I certainly would not wear it for hiking long distances. I still use it as a vapour/waterproof barrier for in-camp - I dry my feet, put these socks on and then wear my wet trail runners around camp - works well for that application. I also wear them for Mountain Biking in wet weather and they are good for that as well.
This newer model may be more comfortable for actual hiking in but I wouldn't call it a panacea for wet weather - you will still sweat in them.

It says they have a hydrophilic membrane, shouldn't that be hydrophobic?
