Dunno why I can never find a full HD resolution display in any size for the RPi. Especially if it is a touchscreen. They make 5" 1440 x 2560 resolution 10-point capacitive multitouch displays for phones, so why can't we get something like that for the Raspberry Pi? I'm not even asking for 2K. I'd be happy with 1920x1080 in a 10" panel. I don't need a trillion dpi, just a fairly standard 1080p resolution with multitouch input.

TipsyMacScotchslurpenPREACH. I'm quite frustrated with the selection of small DIY touchscreens. Why is the official screen from RPi such a hunk of junk? For the price, it's pathetic! I'm upgrading my CR10 3D printer with an OctoPi setup with this screen, so hopefully it will do the trick :)

TipsyMacScotchslurpenYou can find full hd, 2k, even 4k screens on aliexpress and the likes. No touchscreen options that ive seen. Uses a "mipi to hdmi" board to convert the hdmi signal to the, essentially a phone display, interface. Works like a charm. I basically have a samsung galaxy 8 level display for my pc haha
BluepinappleYeah, I have seen MIPI-DSI based displays for use with both HDMI and eDP/Displayport converters. You just have to make sure the converter supports the right number of "lanes" to handle the display's resolution and refresh rate. I guess I'd have to get a separate capacitive touch panel that had exactly the same usable detection area as the display's active display area and make sure that I had them lined up perfectly. It would be an awful lot of trouble when some company somewhere could easily set up machinery to do the job quickly and easily and make loads of profit. I would think putting together a 7 or 10 inch 1080p or 1440p display and a matching 10-point multitouch panel (or, if you don't want to source a tablet touch panel, just go with a 5.6 inch 1440p display and touch panel from one of the ubiquitous flagship Android phablets like the LG V10 or Samsung Note series phones) would make bank. Oh well, I guess I can dream, anyway.
