The newest addition to the Papilio hardware family, the Papilio Pro is an open-source FPGA board designed for hobbyists, engineers, students, and those trying to learn how to build electronics. For power, the board has an all-new Xilinx Spartan 6 LX FPGA chip with a 32-bit MicroBlaze CPU. A high-efficiency LTC3419 step-down dual-voltage regulator provides low-dropout operation, while a 64-Mbit Micro SDRAM allows the board to process tasks quickly with little lag time. In addition to 48 massive I/O lines, the board has a dual-channel USB port, an integrated JTAG programmer, a 64-Mbit Macronix SPI flash, and a 32-megahertz crystal oscillator.
