Why the hell would anyone buy this? Spend the extra $30 and buy a Hakko station.

JA_MANBecause you have to spend the extra $30? Not everyone has a dedicated area to place a Hakko Station at. Even then this can easily melt the majority of lead solder anyways. The only problem you may encounter is melting 97/3 or 96/4 silver solder. Other than that it will get most jobs done without a problem.

JA_MANI move my soldering iron around often and like to carry it with me. This is significantly easier to carry and works just about as good as a Hakko station to be honest. Has been a fantastic buy for me
