Part of the popular Seiko 5 series, this dress watch is an excellent introduction to mechanical timepieces. It’s equipped with the company’s caliber 7S26 automatic 21-jewel movement, which offers a sweeping seconds hand that beats at 21,600 bph. Though the watch cannot be hand-wound, nor does it offer hacking seconds, it does have a display caseback that provides a peek at the watch’s inner workings. Fully wound, it has a power reserve of up to 40 hours. Both models available are equipped with a Hardlex crystal, a day-and-date window at 3 o’clock, lumed hands, and a crown at 4 o’clock.
