Part of the popular Seiko 5 series, the SNKK27 is an excellent introduction to mechanical watches. It’s equipped with the company’s caliber 7S26 automatic 21-jewel movement, which offers a sweeping seconds hand at 21,600 bph. Though the watch cannot be hand-wound, nor does it offer hacking seconds, it does have a display caseback that provides a peek at the watch’s inner workings. Fully wound, it has a power reserve up to 40 hours.
Note: This drop is limited to 300 units.
Most noticeable about this 38-millimeter watch is the blue dial. Protected by a Hardlex crystal, it features a contrasting yellow seconds hand and splashes of yellow and gray between 12 and 4 o’clock. Positioned at 3 o’clock is a day-and-date window, which can be set using the textured crown at 4 o’clock. The baton-style minute hand is lumed, while the hour hand features a skeletonized design with a luminous arrow. Also lumed are the silver-lined hour markers, between which sit small minute and half-minute markers.
