I've never really succumbed to the hype around the SKX, but I did always love the case. So I was happy to pick this up. The grey sunburst dial is beautiful. Finishing on the case is very nice. I'm not big on the clear case backs, but not that big of a deal. Mine is running accurate enough to not want to bother adjusting it, +7 sec/day. I've had pretty good luck with the 4R movements. Surprisingly, my chapter ring is almost perfectly aligned with the dial. The first of my Seikos to make such a boast. For the price, I'm very happy with my purchase.
The SRPE79 stood out from the others in the photos. It looked like the case, bezel and dial were given the same treatment which intrigued me, so I went for it. I wasn't disappointed, the look is very cool and works well with the comfortable leather strap. All indices line up accurately and the watch winds and runs smoothly.
It's a Seiko 5 that stole the pants off a SKX007. It's beautiful. I bought it thinking it was a 22mm lug width. It's a 20mm. Not a huge deal but I can't use any of my many 22mm natos which is why I decided to buy this. What a pain. Also, I think it got knocked around pretty bad in shipping. It's running about -50 secs a day, making it my least accurate auto by about 35 secs a day. I was really hoping I wouldn't have to open it to regulate it but almost a minute a day is terrible for a Seiko. I have a SNJL that's -2 seconds a day consistently.
