The watch arrived today, looks lovely, all decked out with Japanese authentication tags, etc.
Also, doesn't work for crap.
I set the time and date, gave it brisk back and forth shake to get the mechanism going & off I went. Fifteen minutes later noticed it wasn't running. Studied the manual & I saw where you can also manually wind it (especially if it had run all the way down). So, gave it a moderate wind, seemed to be working okay.
About an hour later I checked and it had lost 30 minutes. Repeated twice more with same results.
Sorry, hate to say it, but feeling pretty scammed at the moment.

IanAndersonThanks for the input Ian. I have submitted a request for assistance. Very disappointing! The watch & packaging appear pristine, but it simply will not run.

IanAndersonNot to blame the user, but when you say you gave it a wind, do you mean one turn? Or like, 30 turns? If it's your first automatic, they do require being wound up at first, especially if you weren't actively moving around to have the automatic winding kick in. If you just shook it once. Or wound it once and went back to typing or sitting still, it'll certainly run out of power reserve in little time. Try fully winding it and see if it doesn't last a full day.

IanAndersonCredit where credit is due... I contacted support and was immediately given an RMA & the option of a full refund or a replacement (seems they had a few extra on hand): I opted for a replacement. Replacement took several weeks, & I'll admit to being a bit antsy, but the new watch is fine. Thanks Ian for the advice & Massdrop for following through.

TylerSFIan had replied to my original post. The watch was defective. It was adequately wound, but it would run for 3 hrs and lose 1 1/2 hrs. Or run 30 min & lose 12-15-20. Replacement is flawless.

jwatson6Oh, cool. Glad it worked out. Was hoping it wouldn't be a defective case, and call the product into doubt, but if the replacement was smooth, that's just as reassuring. Thanks for the reply.
