I figured I'd drop this here as the support email us backlogged
I returned my alpinist from the last drop under the Massdrop warrantee and requested another unit. After not hearing from anyone for a week after the unit was received I again contacted support and was refunded.
I'm kinda irked that since I asked for a replacement, and since the money was transferred immediately it's not even like I can decline the money and point out that I wanted a replacement. Given that all the units are already accounted for I can't even jump onto this drop now.

mikowaiWhat was the reason for returning the alpinist through warranty? Is it something I should be looking out for when I receive mine from this last drop?

viperchouJust inspect for physical damage first. If everything looks good then you need to determine accuracy. I have the app "Twixt" on my iPhone. It measures time gained/lost during the day. Easy to use, but costs $5.
If you don't wanna use the app, then here is what you can do, and what I did before the app. Stop the seconds on the watch at the 12 o'clock, then set the time according to www.time.is. This is the atomic clock time. After a day, check to see how many seconds you've gained/lost. The Alpinist I believe is within tolerance +25/-15spd. If you are within tolerance then you are good to go.

viperchouThere was a small scratch on the dial, definitely not Massdrop's fault there. It was just that they have me a refund when I specifically requested a replacement, not something I've heard of happening a lot so I assume it's not a regular occurrence.
Like the other respondant suggested get WatchCheck, watch Accuracy, wild spectra, tickpoint, etc to check the accuracy
