Greetings,
Received watch and it's "less than perfect" in that looking from the 6 o'clock side, the shroud on the crown side has more space between bottom of the shroud and watch than the left side.
It's minimal, but noticeable.
In a store, would have passed on this one.
Am irritated.
Has anyone else noticed imperfections?
Here's my concern, if multiple people notice imperfections: Did the vendor get a batch of watches that were not "1st quality" and this is what the drop consisted of and explains the price point?
Recommendations for MD going forward:
* Ask and confirm with vendor if watches are "1st Quality" and declare if they are or aren't on the drop so people know.
(* Am not sure if i'll be participating in any more watch drops if there's no notice to this effect. This is my first MD watch drop and am disappointed.)
For this drop, for me, regardless of others' situation, what is protocol to return watch for a refund or an exchange?
Have not made up my mind yet.
. . . it's a great watch, but that imperfection is irritating.
. . . if i had known ahead of time that there was an imperfection, i may or may not have participated.
Since nothing was stated, the expectation is "1st Quality."
Thank you.

SteverinoYou can't be serious... Ugh... I'm was having pretty high expectations for it until...
Have you contacted support yet? Lets see what they have to offer?

SteverinoHey @Steverino, we received a sample unit from the same batch of Baby Tunas that went out to you guys. I just checked our particular unit and the alignment issue that you're describing isn't present. This is the first time i've heard of anything like this happening, so move forward with contacting Support and be sure to include a clear picture.
There is no such thing as "1st quality" when it comes to Seiko. All of the watches that roll out of the Seiko factory have passed their relevant QC tests. We're not selling used products- these are all factory new and you would have the same luck if you purchased this watch anywhere else.
Addressing the alignment itself- This entry level diver isn't at the top of Seiko's food chain. For it's price, it naturally doesn't go through the same production process as higher end Seikos. These Baby Tunas are robot assembled by Seiko's factory in Malaysia. Seiko rarely has significant alignment issues because many of them are robot assembled so those issues are kept at a minimum and within the acceptable tolerances.

SteverinoSteve-o......upon closer inspection mine is similar. Shroud is tight to bezel 9-12 and more of a gap 3-6. Looking at the pix of the drop, it looks like the same in a couple shots. I did the black so its far less obvious that the all steel. So I'll hang with it but forever notice it now....thanks Steve....JK.
