the lottery on v.accurate vs totally out on cheap seikos isn't inherent to the watch or bad QC, they are all capable of excellent accuracy hence the 7S26/7S36 models get raved about so much (jewels dont affect accuracy btw). I normally wear a seiko kinetic but thinking of picking up one of these to mod it and use as my beater. None of the cheap seikos are full calibrated at factory unlike higher end ones. Lot of info on watchuseek etc about this. Edit: The straps on seikos5's are rubbish so buy a good Nato G10 or zulu and you'll not get an auto beater as good as that any cheaper.
