Inspired by military-issue watches of the 20th century, Seiko’s Kinetic Field Watch features a simple yet utilitarian dial typical of its forebears, with luminous syringe-style hands and all. Arabic numerals 1 through 12 are large, while small arabic numerals 13 through 24 display military time on the inner ring Read More
I gave up on Seiko Kinetics and gave mine away (not this model). The worst of both worlds in my opinion. A pointless idea Seiko should have dropped years ago. Could never get mine charged up past 'about to die', even if I shook it for literally hours on end. Kinetics won't' charge up on watch winders, either. Might be okay of you wear the same watch every day nonstop, but I'd avoid kinetics for occasional wear. Just my ten cents worth.
Do a search for "Kinetic watch winder" in Ebay or Etsy. They both have rotating winders that allow the Seiko watch pendulum to charge the battery. One hour of using wider keeps the watch ticking for a bit more than one week.

Proof-read your copy please! Styled after 20th century military issue. Teddy Roosevelt didn't charge San Juan Hill wearing a wrist-watch like this. LOL! There were no wristwatches available to Generals Grant or Lee.
I bought two of these for my kids, wanting them to have analogue [edit: and waterproof so they needn't be taken off and lost] watches and not wanting to buy essentially disposable digital watches.
These were really bad.
One never kept time from the beginning, the other broke after a few months.
I've had a Seiko Kinetic for about 15 years that I love, so don't think I'm biased against these. The Field Watches just are, in my specific experience, terrible.
gmac1957It ticks once per second. Bulova makes a military style watch with a sweeping second hand, ticks 16x per second I believe.

For those considering this drop--there is no warranty information listed in the description, which means there is no warranty (either manufacturers or Massdrop).
drdcuddyI am saddened--I don't trust MD anymore. I recently received a dead on arrival item, MD said "too bad, no warranty, we will issue a refund when you send item back." This was after waiting for the item for 3 weeks. Not a good bargain in my opinion.
