Non-J, steel bracelet version is $115 on Amazon as of today (5/29/19) so lets not hear any more of that "it's cheaper elsewhere" nonsense! Damn shame I'm not into field watches--if I were, I'd buy one or two of these without a second thought.
For those with a preference for snappy-looking NATOs and Zulu straps, this watch would be the adult equivalent of a Barbie Doll just waiting for new outfits!
DanTreviewI thought the same thing when I first encountered them. Eventually they began to grow on me--not to the extent that I went out and bought a bunch, but I do have 2 or 3 of them. For the most part, I'm a steel bracelet sort of guy.
RayFI'm exactly the same. I have a green one that came with my Bertucci, and I have a black one I can swap into it, but I cut off the dorky loop-back that goes underneath the case, so it's just a straight strip of nylon that looks and behaves like a normal strap, avoiding that dorky extra loop.
DanTreviewLately seeing lots of so called two-piece NATOs--really the same as any traditional watch strap, but constructed out of the same nylon fabric traditional NATOs are made from--all the fashion colors without the loop ;- )
DanTreviewAgreed. Unless a particular color or combination of colors means something to a person, otherwise I suppose the rest is fashion.
I decided to try a couple of safer colors a while back and I was pretty happy with the results; Blue/Grey Bond stripe on an old Invicta, and military looking Grey/Green solid on a Seiko Flightmaster:

Both straps are very comfortable and there's certainly no problem with sizing.
RayFI only like NATO on my Bertucci, because I *HAVE TO* (integrated lugs). LOL
They look okay on a Hamilton Khaki Field Mechanical too, but that's about it for me...
The stripey ones are for 13 year old boys standing in line for a superhero movie. No joke.
