JOSEPHRGRECO I think your keyboard is broken, massdrop are having a drop for a really nice one at the moment; https://www.massdrop.com/buy/massdrop-x-input-club-k-type-mechanical-keyboard At least, check to see if there's some keyboard chowder blocking your caps key... If you can't fix it, there are utilities that will help you remap the caps lock onto a different key. You have my sincere sympathy; I can only imagine what it must be like having a broken keyboard, and having to type EVERYTHING IN CAPS!!! Everyone would thinking you are some boor shouting all the time and would laugh at you, you poor sod...

JOSEPHRGRECOI'd buy any Seiko over any Movado or TAG, any time. Matter of tastes of course.

JOSEPHRGRECODefine what a "better watch" is? I take great satisfaction from wearing my seikos, never eyed a tag (brand would be nowhere without its expensive commercials), and even less a Movado, they all look like fashion watches to me. Seiko=all in house, horology creations with an amazing history behind it. I repeat, put a seiko, a tag and a Movado on the table, I pick the Seiko. Maybe it's just me, but it's the way it is ;)

JOSEPHRGRECOBought a Movado for my wife with Gold finish. After 3 months of normal wear the finish began to wear off. Not. Cool.
Paid about $350, but that was before I got into watches. Now, I feel I'm a little more educated on the subject.
Movado's are fashion watches. They have a nice, clean aesthetic. However, they are all quartz (they only have hours and minutes, so a mechanical movement isn't necessary) and they don't sign the crown (though, neither does Seiko).
Tag is different. While they make quartz watches, I wouldn't buy one. But they have really great mechanical watches. These are my favorite Tag watches: 2017 Autavia - REF?? https://www.hodinkee.com/articles/tag-heuer-autavia-2017-introducing https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cPvbzzBpqlc
Grand Carrera - CAV511A https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SpfO0r-HgDU
Heuer Carrera Calibre 6 - WV5111.FC6350 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yhy5eL78Mlg
I don't think Seiko vs Tag are valid comparisons given the price points. What you get with a Seiko is a reliable workhorse that you can wear wherever.
Movado vs Tag IS a valid comparison. However, this comparison comes down to what you value. If you want an entry-level mechanical watch with excellent reliability, then a Seiko is an AWESOME choice. However, if you want a sleek designed fashion watch, then you may prefer a Movado.
But unlike THIS watch, your Movado can't tell me what direction I'm heading or what second of the day it is - two totally necessary features (ahem - sarcasm).
But it does have date, so there's that.

glenn1746Fully agree on Movado. About Tag, I do like some of their models, but usually find them overpriced. Someone has to pay for all the commercials I guess :) What I love about Seiko is that you always get what you pay for, and more often than not, even more than that. I also love the fact that so many of their models breath a bit of history, take the Alpinist, take most of their divers, or even a basic Seiko 5... There are generations and generations of watches behind what you see, and it shows. Last, I love that the watch isn't elitist at all, on either sides of "elites". There's something for everyone, from 80 USD to 20,000, each and every one of them being incredible value for money. What's not to love and respect? ;)

JOSEPHRGRECOOf course the retail price is ridiculous. So is the retail price for the ugly movados or the over-rated TAGs. Get a clue. Seikos regularly sell at around half the msrp. For $400-600 you can get a very nice japanese seiko auto that cleans the floor with TAGs ...even $300. If you want Euro, skip TAG and go to Omega...or...

JOSEPHRGRECOIf you are looking for a proper watch, buy a grand Seiko, their models do cost 10k$ and you get a fine piece of work.

JOSEPHRGRECOid take a seiko automatic over a movado any day. seiko is no longer your grandfather's seiko. from the modestly priced turtle and samurai to grand seikos i prefer them to many of my swiss watches. actually sold my tag to fund a seiko (though to be fair the tag was a quartz).
