This Seiko SKA kinetic watch is an all-rounder of sorts. You can wear it to a nice dinner or out in the backwoods and it won’t look out of place. The dial comprises stick markers, sword hands, and a date window at the traditional 3 o’clock position. For minutes, use the bezel, which has them listed in increments of five. Powered by Seiko’s own 5M82 kinetic movement, the watch can hold up to a 6-month charge. Set on your choice of a leather or stainless steel band, it comes with a brushed stainless steel case that’s water resistant to 100 meters.
Note: At checkout, choose from the following models: SKA787, SKA789, SKA791, SKA785 (+ $15), or SKA783 (+ $15). Quantities of each are limited.
Released by Seiko in the late 1980s, kinetic movements combine the accuracy of quartz with the winding mechanism of an automatic watch. A fully charged kinetic watch will store up to 6 months of power. To determine the power level, hit the button at the 2 o’clock position—if it skips ahead 30 seconds, it’s fully charged; 15 seconds, it has 3 months of power; and so on.
