This is a great watch if you like the style and functions. That said it’s the second watch I’ve bought from Massdrop that has broken within a half a year. I would recommend buying elsewhere (usually even cheaper) as even grey market shops usually offer warranty.

McJimmisRidiculous comment--what watches, what issues? Are you suggesting MD sells substandard or defective watches, and that the same watches from other sellers are somehow better quality?

RayFIt’s not ridiculous. I have bought 2 watches from MD and both devoleped issues within months of owning. Without having a warranty outside of 30 days through MD there was no support on either. The threaded tube on the Seiko broke and now the screw down crown doesn’t work properly. The watch still functions with a wobble to the crown but I’m not sure what water resistance would be and it’s no longer as it should be. The other piece is a Victorinox automatic that has a low power reserve and takes a bit of shaking just to get it going. I’ve worn the piece all day and won’t run till morning. I’ve checked after a few hours and the piece won’t be working. Can these happen with any watch, from any shop, sure. The issue is not having any support after 30 days where other vendors have competitive (many times better than many MD these days) and some kind of support or warranty after purchase. Did I just get unlucky, probably but I don’t want to take more chances where I’m at 100% loss here with watches.

McJimmisSorry to hear you've had such disappointing results/luck. I've purchased a half-dozen Seikos from various vendors over the past year and none of them show any problems--certainly none of the issues you describe. True, only a couple of them have been from MD--I always compare prices against for any drop I'm interested in before pulling the trigger here. On the other hand, I've never had an issue returning an MD drop I found unsatisfactory. I hope you'll reach out to Customer Service and seek some resolution to the problems you've experienced.
