Random question for everyone - Seiko has been reissuing their original dive series with update movements and obviously higher price points. Seiko just introduced their new auto chrono movement for grand Seiko, but what if they dropped in the 8L series auto chrono in this case? I’d be a buyer at $2k for such a piece, which is in line with the enamel dial presage. Anyone else?

WatchyoutalkingaboutMmm...probably not at two-grand, but I would like to see this watch in a slightly larger case and dial configuration. The problem is, as cool as this watch is, it's damned difficult to see and clearly read all the indices, markings and functions available on the watch--there's a reason Breitling puts a few of their Navitimers in those pizza-sized 46mm cases! Now I wouldn't go quite that far, but if one looks at most of the online Flightmaster reviews and videos, one notices pretty quickly why most of the shots use a close-up lens! Of course, your vision my vary ;- )

RayFWell, it is a pilot’s Watch, so you’d have to have pretty near perfect vision to really need it in the first place! And 2k retail would be 1k-1300 real world. Not sure about the hardlex crystal either. Seiko literally manufactures all the components for their watches (technically under Seikos other Corp depending on parts) so the cost for them to switch over entirely to sapphire at this point can’t be much. The machining and tooling costs must’ve been paid off before I could read

WatchyoutalkingaboutYeah, guessing their issue with hardlex at this stage is a point of pride, although I've yet to have a problem with any of mine,
