Product Description
Like the dashboard of a cockpit, the aptly named Flightmaster is packed with information that can be difficult to interpret at first glance. With practice, however, you’ll be able to use this Japanese quartz watch to summon all kinds of info: time, speed, and distance calculations; fuel consumption; climbing altitude, rate, and time; unit conversion; square root and rule-of-three calculations; and much more Read More

Anyone ordered this watch in the previous drop? The one sent on Jan 19? I wonder where the watch may be now. DHL shows the last trace from 22.01 scanned into sack/container.

Wondering if someone could help me out, aren't these model of flightmasters supposed to be out of production? Where is all this extra stock coming from?

Zenith1222 As Sam Clemens once said: "reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated." I'd be thrilled if anyone could point us to a corporate announcement from Seiko declaring the SNA411 officially dead. Frankly, I'd settle for the same from a reliable coroner (or AD). Near as I can tell, this watch may have been discussed to death (as far back as 2015), but I haven't seen any evidence that it actually is dead! To the contrary, it's almost impossible to find someone NOT selling it--even MD has access to seemingly unlimited supplies--they claim to have sold more than 2,100 of them. Not bad for an outlet at, or near, the very bottom of the watch distribution food chain! And while we're on the subject, aren't there still plenty of SARBs and SRP777s floating around? The more likely spin is this--saying a watch has been discontinued doesn't necessarily mean Seiko actually stops production of the watch. Even if the announcement was official, it's unlikely they broke all the molds, threw away all the work in progress, scrapped all the extant parts still in inventory, and shredded the blueprints. In this case, discontinued may just mean Seiko has no plans to manufacture the watch after existing inventory has been depleated--and that's the part no one seems to have any hard information on. Conceivably, Seiko could have a two to five-year supply of parts. Maybe more--we just don't know. So while one can't believe everything one reads on the internet, neither can it all be dismissed out of hand. In lieu of the hard facts, my speculation is as good as the next guys. That said, I wouldn't wait around too long if you think you might want one of these babies...
rumor has it they've been discontinued ;- )

Been six months, still love it. Even though it isn't saying much, this is the best watch I own. Was afraid that the crystal dome would get really scratched up while I was working and I would have to replace it with a sapphire dome, but it is extremely durable - no visible scratches.

If you don't own this watch already, buy it! It's definitely my favorite quartz watch and it gets a lot of wrist time, particularly on the weekends and in the summer. For the first year of wearing this watch, it was on the bracelet, but it is a scratch magnet. I do swap it out with a leather or silicone strap from time to time to polish the bracelet. At 200mm water resistance with a screw down crown and pushers, it's awesome. And it's really cool reading the dial while underwater. Really pops out.

boatsandhoesBut seriously, Ritche makes a 21mm leather strap and a 21mm silicone strap. I do leather in the cooler months and the silicone in the warmer ones. Barton also makes a good quality 21mm leather strap.

I purchased this watch from a Drop last year. After wearing it for over six months, I couldn’t be happier. It’s accurate and beautiful. The weight distribution between the case and bracelet feels great. Many on this forum know much more about watches than I do, but from a novice’s perspective, this is a can’t miss. One more thing: I don’t think the bracelet gets enough attention. The subtle color difference from the outer part of the links to the inner polish makes a huge difference in how it wears. Recommend highly.

They make longer straps and two-piece straps. You just have to look around fort them.

RayFWith the recent announcement that Drop will no longer support a dedicated watch community, I wonder if there are others worth joining. I am relatively new to the drop watch community, but while I have been a part of it, I’ve found your comments insightful and your acerbic wit enjoyable. I’ve learned a lot. If you have any suggestions, I’d be grateful. If not, carry on the good work. Best regards.

For the first time ever I think I may actually want a quartz watch! Best part about this thing is you can actually tell the time, as well as calculate the distance and flight time to Andromeda. Great price too.
