Not sure what the difference is between Seiko's V172-0AK8 and V172-OAZ8 movements, but I'd recommend the Seiko Adventure-Solar Classic instead. Classier look imo, at a lower price, even with the same features... except it has an internal compass-marked bezel that's rotated by crown. Alarm function isn't all that useful since you have to set it every time and it has a very faint ring (I'd imagine this has the same alarm). The Hardlex crystal is actually quite durable, I've had it over a year now and whacked it on multiple hard surfaces... still not a scratch on it. Power reserve seems great. I've left it in a dark room for weeks without wearing and haven't had any problems (says it holds a 6month max reserve). And even if you let it run down, it'll change to a 2-second tick rate once it hits a 7-day reserve to let you know.
After briefly searching Amazon, I see they now have more variations including military/pilot themed colors/straps (same watch/mov't though). Would've liked to grab a black one, but I'm happy with my Classic on a 22mm grey zulu :)
