I bought this watch Awhile ago and I love it. It is very comfortable. They sell in shops (In Ireland) for around €300 so I think this is a god deal. I have the SSC077P1 (Orange & Black)The only complaint i have is the loom does not last too long. The battery lasts about 2 days or more in Pitch black (Box etc.)

Colin.CrowleyThe battery on a full charge will last for 6 months in complete darkness.
The movement is caliber V172 and you can see additional spec here: http://www.seikowatches.com/support/ib/pdf/SEIKO_v172_e.pdf

OneLoveYeah, but if that happens, it sounds like you have bigger problems on your hands other than reading your watch. :)

Colin.Crowley@Colin.Crowley I've attached a snippet from the Seiko v172 movement manual which shows what is required for a full charge. To get to the full 6 month charge, you would need 5 hours of direct sunlight (100,000 lux). For daily/steady operation, you need much less. There's also an end of life indicator where the seconds hand ticks every other second.

Colin.CrowleyWell, I have only received it on 12th March, and at least, sent on 29th January, it was 43 days boxed in the dark. But I believe it was closed in the box even before it was sent, because the products are stocked after production. When it came to me, it came fully functional, and the seconds pointer wasn't even giving the signal of low batterie (move at each 2 seconds instead on each second).

Colin.CrowleyI've had a different model of this Seiko for about a year. Same requirements for charging. I do not wear the watch every day, When I'm not wearing it I leave it on the night stand where it gets indirect sunlight during the day and light from a quartz desk lamp in the evenings. I have not had any incidents of the charge being exhausted...even when I travel and the watch may be in a black velvet pouch for two or three days. I'll add that I bought this other Seiko at a jewelry store. It cost $375.00.
