cmagruderGood luck finding a field style quartz watch for under $100 with sapphire. If you know of one, please link it, as I'm looking for one myself, but settled for a Bulova 96B230 for my new daily beater.
cmagruderYeah, no thanks. If it's not currently available for purchase, it's not really a valid comparison, and as with any kickstarter, you may never even get the watch you paid for.
cmagruderI like the solar feature of this one, and in general. This clan loves their mechanical movements, but mechanical accuracy on Swiss movements is tragically poor. I think it’s done to overcharge for accurate movements. Ooo I mean calibers. Anyway, my Seiko mechanicals are way more accurate than Swatch cheese.
delnerdoI get where you're coming from entirely. I've found Swiss quartz, like what I linked, often more accurate than the lower end Swiss mechanical stuff.
Worked for five years for me.

Any number of other things on sale. Number of Hamilton and Victorinox quartzes out there at times.
EDIT:
Only just realized you were looking for field style. Tougher but possible still through sales.
