Very nice timepiece. Just arrived yesterday, sized and wore it today and I really love it. Hopefully the 4r36 movement keeps more accurate time than the NH35 movement.

I have to say this is a nice watch for the price. I regret not buying the blue one though. It looks really nice with a blue rubber strap IMO. I think more fabled as a legend in the watch community as well. The link on the bracelet are pretty thick so it’s hard to get the watch to fit the way I want too. Shipping came early though which was cool!

4R36 is a solid movement.
So far as I am concerned, I need all feature in 4R36 so accuracy is really not the case. I adjust time weekly.
Been seiko customer for over 20 years and they never fail me for the ROI ratio. Always worth it.
Some high end piece may not worth that much (1k,2k above).
In short, Japanese automatic quality in lower end market is so good that it is hard to compete.

Since the topic of made in Japan vs. elsewhere came up, I will say this. It may or may not be exactly correct because Seiko are notoriously uncooperative about divulging details. But I will give it a go.
Because of labor costs, nothing in Seiko's product line under approximately US$800 is manufactured in Japan. From there to their high end pieces like the Grand Seiko, may be "assembled" in Japan with components manufacturered in their factories overseas.
The term "made in Japan" label in its truest sense, is really only applicable to the models costing several thousand dollars.

Note to those considering this drop: It's worth pointing out to at least those interested in an Orange Monster, that this drop is for the SRPB-series, and not the SRP-series (without the "B"), and there are some pretty significant differences in the appearance of the two, even though both are referred to as "Baby Monsters."
For my taste, and again, especially for those looking for an Orange Monster, the SRPB's are kind of muted-looking compared to the SRP's. You may feel otherwise, but here's what I mean:

It might have a better value as used. However, I have never sold one so it is just a guess.

WARGAgain on low-end watches the difference isn't going to be significant--unless you can find someone who buys into the myth/bullshit about Japan made watches--at that price point.
Given a choice of two otherwise identical watches, how much more is buyer X willing to pay for the "J" model? Enough to recover the extra you paid for it? Maybe, but no guarantee.

I have the black/gold Seiko "Baby Monster"from this drop. I LOVE the look of the watch but it's a bit too big for my skinny wrists. I wore it once and decided to replace the band with a black/gold NATO band. I wore it once after that and feel that it's just too big for me. I'd be happy to sell it at the original drop price (+shipping) and throw in the NATO band for free if anyone is interested. Like I said, it's gorgeous but it's too big for my skinny arms. ;-)

Is the diameter really 44mm? Or is that including the crown and crown guard? I've seen several sites where this is listed as 42mm (and one where it is listed at 46mm). 40mm is my usual limit on size, but I might push it to 42mm for this one. Unfortunately the Orange is gone already.
