I hate it. This is a MINO--a monster in name only! It's a shameful insult to each of the previous generations of real Monsters to even mention this abomination in the same conversation. The bezel is horrendous; it's an ugly color and looks dog-chewed as well. The dials are dull and uninspiring. The only improvement I see is they've finally gone back to the original, spline-cut crown instead of that knurled knob that always looked like a bad metal shop project. Save you money and buy a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd gen monster on the secondary market--or wait until Seiko realizes the error of their ways and finally releases something worthy of the MONSTER name. Until they do, I'm going on a hunger strike--no more sushi for me!

RayFI would be more annoyed by Seiko cheaping out on the movement. The bezel is personnel preference: some like the brushed metal look, some don't.

RayFI was on the fence before, but now I may have to buy it! Seiko moved the sumo upmarket (now around 800ish with sapphire and the new 6r35, 70 hour power reserve) and the monster downmarket. They used to be in the same place before, $450-$600 with hardlex and 6r15 and you had your pick across the range of either. Cheapest I see them now is around $500 for some old stock monsters on bracelet, but less on the rubber. For $300, it’s equivalent to a samurai or turtle in price and specs. Plus, these do have the blue lume.

WatchyoutalkingaboutI make no argument about the specs. You are a well-seasoned watch buyer, so I won't stand in your way. --All I ask is that you boycott sushi for at lest 3 months!

RayFI mean they ditched the 6R15. It was a better movement then what's in the new Monster.

unhappymealTrue—and I could overlook that, but not the boring overall appearance of these two pretenders. Monsters are supposed to stand out, not blend in. These guys “work” okay, but both lack the appropriate sex-appeal.
